BOG BT (1 Piece)
2022PrototypeBackground: The Adidas Yeezy BOG BT was an SLS 3D-printed Boot created and designed by @argo.obj and Kelsey Foo, and prototyped by Kyle Johnson (@Kilejay).
Given the design by Ye, Demna, and Balenciaga, the Adidas Yeezy team continued working on the YGEBB Boot, despite it saying "Made in China" on the Boot (Due to the 3D File being generated by Apache Factory), it was actually 3D printed in California. There were multiple versions made with very small iterations between each. This specific pair is either missing the top piece by accident or on purpose. BOG BT was made of 2 pieces, sometimes 3 for a longer length.
During a plethora of stories on Instagram, Ye had claimed Adidas slowed down the production of the Boot by trying to "bully" Gap, and then stopped the Boot from going to market.
After Ye's split from Gap, he would have Zellerfeld make a 3D printed version of the Boot on Friday 09/30/2022, 3 days before the Yeezy Season 9 Show, Ye had contacted Cornelius Schmitt (Zellerfeld's Ceo) for them to make a 3D Printed version of the BOG BT for the Yeezy Season 9 Show in Paris Fashion Week that took place on 10/03/2022. It would then be seen in Look 20 of Yeezy Season 9.
Cornelius Schmitt would claim that Ye said Balenciaga and Adidas could not get the sampling right for months, but this would not be the case.
Zellerfeld would be shared the 3d file that the Adidas Yeezy team worked on for months without their knowledge, then claim that they designed and developed the shoe in 3 days.
They did make the Boot in 3 days and figure out how to print it at Ye’s request, but in no way designed the Boot.
Design took months due to a few changes made that didn’t have to do with the process. If they were given design lock, they could have made a mold and produced it exactly as requested, but with the strained relationship, it was difficult.
