Background: The YZY GAP Hoodie was the retail result of years of research and development. It came in six colorways: Black, Blue, Red, Purple, Brown, and Light Brown, each retailing for $70. Subsequent price drops brought this price to $60, then $40, all the way down to $30 when Ye terminated his deal. The initial release was followed by a restock of Black and Blue colors, coinciding with the "Heaven and Hell" music video. The music video was both a visual for the song as well as a commercial for the hoodies (styled by Ras Bartram), which Gap ran during the NCAA championship on ESPN on January 11th, 2022. Ye later revealed this led to over $14 million in sales of the hoodie in a discussion with Gap’s Board ("We sold 14 million hoodies at $80 with no logo on it, off of one commercial and never ran the commercial again, that's insane"). The kids' version would be worn by Saint West.
