SATEEN OVERALLS

Background: Designed by Deman and co-designed by @miketheruler (on Instagram) and Pierre Louis Auvray, the Sateen Overalls were not shown in the YGEBB Lookbook, although the Coated Cotton version was. The Overalls were originally designed and intended to be given to the Homeless as a 4th layer, and they would add or remove the Overalls depending on the weather. The retail version would feature less length and be made with closed elastic on the wrists compared to the lengthy design and bungee cords on the wrists and ankles on the initial prototypes by Demna. The Overalls were visually based on Vetements' SS20 runway jumpsuit Overalls. The first Prototype would have a hood pinned to the collar and be made of crinkly nylon. Another prototype was made of padded lightweight cotton canvas with a zipper at the waist to detach the pants from the jacket, and the final prototype, before being handed off to Gap, would be made of cotton/nylon popli. YZY Atelier would make a sample of Balenciaga's Original Shape design without chest pockets. The Overalls were initially sold on yeezygap.com in Black; other colorways were being made by Gap, such as white, but were cancelled/not released. The Overalls feature bungee cords at the waist and zip pockets on each side and one on each side of the chest.
